A Modern Woman’s Iconic Handbag

A classic will always be a classic. In a modern day world we’ve embraced designers like Alexander Wang & Philip Lim who have added structure, metal and futuristic character to fashion. Our view of “iconic” has broadened.

These bags make my lust list. They are my icons.

Blog Fashion: Polyvore Cozy Fall Fashion

It’s starting to get cold and all I can think of is wrapping myself in layers to keep warm. I think fall weather can make it tough to stay looking polished and not fall into a more lazy look. Here’s what I think would keep anyone cozy while looking cute.

How do you plan on keeping cozy this fall? Let me know down below!

August 2013 Ipsy Glam Bag

My favorite product in the August glam bag is the new Urban Decay lipstick in color 69. That alone is worth sharing. I’m also very excited to try the True Organics line. I’ve heard great things.

Product Review: L’Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder Foundation with SPF 18

L'Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powered Foundation with SPF 18

L’Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powered Foundation with SPF 18

This foundation claims to turn from a liquid from to powder after application. Well, I tried it and I can say that it does. I found this foundation at a CVS near my home. Not all locations have this yet though. I visited 3 locations and only one had the foundation. I picked up 328 in Sun Beige. The color is a little light for me but the next color up was too dark. This is the number one reason I don’t love drugstore foundations, the color range is typically off for me.

At first I hated this product. It felt slimy, it was dripping off my palms, and it stuck to my dry spots. The next day I gave it a second chance and it was much better. I used far less product the second time around and I exfoliated before application. I was able to achieve medium coverage and my face looked matte. It didn’t cover my acne scars but in all honestly not very much does. I’m realistic.

This foundation starts off as a very liquid formula so use very little when applying or it can get all over the place. I would suggest putting your finger at the opening of the bottle and shake. Apply to your face whatever you get on your finger. The finish is a matte so you do not need a powder to set it in. It can give you a sheer to medium coverage. The formula is almost waterproof even through it is not marketed that way so oily skins will love it. This feels like you are applying primer or serum to the skin so it really blends well.

It does last longer than the average foundation but reapplying a little during the day couldn’t hurt you. Plus you don’t even need to carry a powder. If you have major hyperpigmentation, acne scars and dry spots this is not the best option for you. The coverage won’t really get up that high without looking a little cake like. Yes it can get cake like so don’t use too much.

Here are some pictures of how it looks when you pour it onto your palm and after running water over it.

Here is a before and after on me. I used two layers. As you can see it diffuses the look of my pores and evens my skin tone. It did an ok job hiding scars and redness. Not enough for me though.

Overall I would recommend this product but it’s just not a repurchase for me. It doesn’t stack up to my holy grail Nars Sheer Glow. Here is a link to that review: http://wp.me/p39Icy-C

Review’s on the following hauls will be up shortly. Make sure to follow this blog for a review on the Alexander Wang Rocco Bag, the new Maybelline Falsies Big Eyes Mascara & the new Covergirl Clean Whipped Foundation.

Mini Fashion Haul- Tory Burch, Vince Camuto, H&M, Marc Jacobs

Mini Fashion Haul

Just got back from Florida! I really had a blast on that much needed vacation. No trip is ever complete without shopping right? My friend graciously agreed to take me to the Saw Grass Hills Outlets and down Lincoln Road in Miami.

At Bloomie’s I scored these super comfy periwinkle Vince Camuto flats for $59 and a red Marc Jacobs credit card holder for $62.

After 45 minutes at Tory Burch I settled with some Tory Burch Reva Flats for $199. I had to have the bright orange ones. My wardrobe needed the color for sure.

I didn’t find much at the shops on Lincoln Road but we did manage to spend an hour at H&M. I picked up three of the exact same button down tanks in army green, ivory and black. These great basics will get a ton of wear all throughout the year.
