Highlighting the high points of my face was an afterthought until I discovered my glow. I started playing around with some highlighters, experienced some trial and error.
It was GNO and we flashed some photography of course. I looked like I fell into a tub of Crisco. Lesson learned. Do not highlight down your nose, cupids bow, chin and the center of your forehead if you have uncontrollable oily skin. Now I only highlight the tops of my cheek bones, inner corner of my eyes and under the brows.
I prefer to keep it natural during the day and go more dramatic at night. The ELF Cosmetics Baked Blush in Pinktastic for $3 is my favorite powder highlighter at the moment. Don’t be fooled by the name as this is not a blush rather a gold highlighter with peachy pink veins running through it. This highlighter glides across the skin with a light hand. They texture is soft and shows up delightfully glowy. I would compare the coloration to MAC’s Soft and Gentle just without the chalky after thought. For a wet and dewier effect the creamy texture of the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Yogurt just seems to melt right into natural sheen.
